According to Ovum, by 2016, the value of the combined mobile voice and broadband productivity gains to the US economy will reach $427 billion per year.
With the advancement in wireless services and broadband, there is an enormous opportunity for enterprises to take advantage of this rapidly growing market. As enterprises continue to deploy connected devices to their workforces in droves, it is important to consider how OEM and device manufacturers are positioning themselves to compete in corporate markets and other business use cases worldwide.
This year, I am eagerly looking forward to CTIA Enterprise & Applications™ taking place October 6-8, 2010 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco for a few reasons. Of course one of those reasons is that I love getting back out to California to connect with former colleagues, friends, and family. The other reason I am anxiously awaiting CTIA IT this year is to discuss and hear others thoughts on the potential connected devices have to revolutionize the efficiency of the enterprise.
On Wednesday, October 6th at 1:00 PM PST, I will be participating in “The Enterprise Device Update” panel with senior executives from RIM, Qualcomm, Samsung and Motorola. The panel will explore the latest and greatest mobile devices for business users, highlighting their potential to revolutionize the efficiency of the enterprise.
As I think many would agree, there is an enormous opportunity for enterprises to take advantage of this rapidly growing market, there are also many challenges related to multi-carrier order processing, management, activation and provisioning. I welcome the opportunity to discuss those challenges during the panel and with any others who will be heading out to CTIA IT this year.
